Regional Advisor !
In this dynamic role, you'll spearhead innovative admission,
financial aid, and early outreach strategies to attract and enroll
talented students. You'll also mentor and train staff, leading key
recruitment programs with your expertise. As a vital resource and
support for our Assistant Directors, you'll provide leadership in
managing and enhancing our recruitment and training initiatives. If

What you need to know
Salary: $50,000.00/annually (Compensation commensurate to selected
hire's experience)

Position Details: THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN HOUSTON, TEXAS .
Extensive travel required. Evenings and weekend work required.
Capable of lifting or moving heavy weight boxes and travel
independently.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and
experience
Four years of experience in admissions, recruitment, advising,
financial aid, or outreach
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of financial aid programs and federal regulations
relating to student financial aid
Ability to work well with students and parents
Ability to work well with student population
Preferred Qualifications
A Class "C" vehicle operator's license or ability to obtain within
30 days of employment
Master's degree
Bilingual in Spanish
More than four years of professional experience in higher education
admissions, recruitment, student advising, student financial aid or
student services related position
Professional experience within TAMUS
Customer service experience, particularly within higher
education
Working experience in admissions, recruitment, or financial aid
Experience in producing reports of the analysis and evaluation of
activities
Participation in Texas Association for College Admission Counseling
(TACAC) or Texas Association of Collegiate Registrars and
Admissions Officers (TACRAO) programs or other professional
organizations related to admissions, recruitment, student advising,
student financial aid or student services
Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
Demonstrated knowledge of basic project management and
organizational practices
Demonstrated knowledge of principles, practice and methods of
admissions, marketing, and enrollment
General knowledge of higher education institution general academic
requirements and admission policies
Proficiency in related student information systems such as Banner,
AIS, Howdy, MOSES, SLATE, or TAMUDocs
Ability to design, develop, conduct, and assess effective
programs
Ability to develop and conduct group presentations for various
audiences
Ability to work in an environment subject to regular interruptions,
multi-tasking, and re-prioritizing potentially conflicting
assignments
Familiarity with the assigned territory as it relates to university
admissions and recruitment
Responsibilities
Recruitment
Identify and recruit underserved students from designated high
schools and regions
Guide prospective students and parents through admissions,
scholarships, and financial aid processes
Coordinate with high school counselors and implement recruitment
activities like campus visits, presentations, and workshops
Manage program expenses and provide budget updates
Organize and report on programs, including marketing,
accommodations, and events
Travel to high schools and community colleges for visits and
presentations
Distribute admissions information through various programs and
visits
Collaborate with external organizations on recruitment
activities
Matriculation
Coordinate with counselors to assist admitted students with next
steps
Provide information on pathways to admission, housing, orientation,
and campus resources
Advise students on financial aid options and make presentations on
scholarships and financial aid programs
Work with the Financial Aid Office to adjust awards as needed
Customer Service
Interact with high school faculty and staff to enhance student
counseling and advisement
Develop and manage early awareness programs for recruitment and
financial aid
Conduct presentations and work at resource tables
Establish community contacts in select areas
Develop relationships with university departments to enhance
customer service
Assist in creating admissions and financial aid materials
Present at local, state, and regional conferences
Job Knowledge
Stay informed about university policies and opportunities
Maintain knowledge of financial aid and admissions regulations
Attend workshops and conferences
Serve on university committees
Leadership
Mentor and train subordinate advisors on admissions and financial
aid
Take on leadership roles in professional associations and
committees
